Lydia Kwa (Vancouver)
“I don’t remember exactly how I came across Adrienne Rich’s poetry, but when I read Dream of a Common Language while studying psychology at Queen’s University, and having just come out as a lesbian around that time, Rich’s earthy yet deeply philosophical poems gave me an emotional home for that loneliness I had been feeling, all those years I could not name myself or my passionate connection to women.”
Lydia Kwa is the author of fiction and poetry, including Pulse, Sinuous, and The Walking Boy. She’s working on several projects: a prequel to The Walking Boy, a short story collection, and a book of illustrated poems.
