Plenitude Publishing Society is seeking volunteers to bring unique skills and experiences to its Board of Directors, and we want to hear from you.
Our Mandate:
Since our inception in 2012, we promote the growth and development of LGBTQ2S+ literature through online publication of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, book reviews, and interviews by both emerging and established LGBTQ2S+ writers.
We define queer literature as that which is created by LGBTQ2S+ people, rather than that which features queer content alone. That said, we recognize that Plenitude readers are hungry for exceptional works that reflect queer histories, cultures, experiences, and sensibilities. Through our growing editorial collective, we aim to represent a diversity of identities and editorial expertise, thereby encouraging an equivalent diversity of submissions and readers.
Plenitude Publishing Society is looking for board members with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and skill sets. The Board would benefit especially from members with prior experience on a non-profit society board and/or arts administration, in any or all of the following areas:
- not-for-profit
- magazine publishing
- strategic planning
- grant writing
- marketing
- fundraising/development
Working with the managing editor, the Board plays a governance role to ensure there is a robust and dynamic publishing program, financial stability, as well as a strong and inclusive organizational culture. To that end, the Board meets annually for the AGM to provide this oversight, support and guidance. The Board will also have an opportunity to work collaboratively with the managing editor on implementing special projects (such as readings, contests or other outreach projects) and/or fundraising campaigns.
