Tannaz Taghizadeh was born in Tehran, Iran. She came to Toronto years ago. With a background in literature back in Iran, she searched for poetry readings in Toronto, and followed the art bars’ poetry nights and got the courage through Fraser Sutherland to read some of her own at the open mic section of Tuesday nights. Her poems appear in LRC, Grain, EVENT, and Canadian Literature Quarterly. She also translates poetry and stories from English to Farsi and Farsi to English, with poetry and over 15 short stories published in different magazines in Iran, USA and Canada, and a collection of her translations of short stories under publication in Iran.
