jade palmer

rode my horse into the sala rossa noise show—
lemon yellow crop top, bumble bee stockings
a thirst for blood reimaged as gentle dancing

haltering hordes bellow for more discordant jazz
i refill my glass with a pabst from my pocket

on stage a woman in polite dress crafts crackling synths
by hovering cups of black ichor above a pad of LEDs
some trick in plain sight, a veil between us

my mare mane-thrashes to the sputtering beat
& her neck whips in ways which look sickening

but which carefully exercise fascia
& excise anthropogenic haunting
from horse-body and woman-body at once.

thrumming young foals mosh until sideways
in an act of non-hierarchical cacophony-magick.
pegasus metanoia overtakes all sinners’ souls
& closes mammalian gaps of “History.”

in 340bpm
my hair grows down to my ass
my muscles bulk in equine image
& my soul returns to Lisa Frank Heaven

rainbow girls & horse girls & special stars
empty their crayons to the floor
mash their hooves in the wax of creation
unmaking & remaking a messy forever.
