Announcing the Inaugural Cornucopia Literary Prize

We are thrilled to announce our first-ever contest, the Cornucopia Literary Prize for fiction. The prize is open for submissions from September 15, 2016, until March 1, 2017, and is awarded to the best work of fiction by a LGBTTQI writer. We welcome submissions from writers of any nationality.

In addition to publication in Plenitude magazine, the winning author receives a cash prize of $500. Every submission will be considered for publication. The shortlist will be announced in May 2017, and the winning author, as well as two honourable mentions, will be announced June 1, 2017.

The Cornucopia Literary Prize will be judged by Hiromi Goto.

Submission Guidelines

All submissions must be previously unpublished and written in 11 or 12 point font. The documents must not have identifying information on them to ensure a blind reading process (remove your name, address, and contact information from the document itself), but please be sure to include this information, including the name of your story, in your cover letter. For short story contest submissions, please include a word count. Fiction submissions must be no longer than 3000 words. We welcome multiple entries.

All submissions must be accompanied by a $15 PayPal donation (per entry). If your PayPal account differs from the email address you include in our Submission Form, please leave us a note indicating this discrepancy. Once you have paid the entry fee, please submit your story via Submittable.com.

Thank you for submitting to the inaugural Cornucopia Literary Prize, and good luck!
